Microsoft outlook is far and away the most used email server in existence. It is loaded with features such as Calendars and Messaging. Files can be saved and archived with little effort. Yes, Outlook is just about perfect… Except that it is prone to a variety of very specific problems that users must constantly find answers to. The Outlook Repair Blog targets those problems as well as the best solutions to them.

Microsoft Outlook comes bundled with Microsoft Office. Unfortunately Microsoft Office is such a great program we tend to keep reinstalling older versions on to our new PCs. Why is this unfortunate… because older versions of Office were designed for simpler computing times. And the versions of Outlook in those earlier editions of Office have severe limitations.

The first of these is a size limitation for the mailbox. At the time it was created it was thought that the 2GB overall mailbox size of Outlook would last for a decade. But today’s emails are filled with embedded images and attachments such as MP4s. Just as with our hard drives 2 Gig just isn’t the kind of storage space in was in 2000. When one exceeds the 2GB limits on these versions of Outlook data spills over the top of the barrel so to speak and is lost. Fortunately it is not lost forever. A quality tool to repair Outlook will find these spilled messages.to recover the Outlook PST file. This is the unique file used by outlook to store data. In fact it is an early version of a writable database.  Such a program is specifically designed for PST files. It will scan your entire hard drive for Outlook emails that have gone astray and then offer them to you as a recovered PST file that may be written to DVD or saved in a different section of the computers hard disk.

Anti-virus scanning causes the next most common point of failure for Microsoft Outlook. It seems almost comical that programs designed to protect hard drives can be responsible for so much data loss in Outlook files. Basically what occurs is that when incoming mail is received or sent many popular anti-virus scanning programs will actually overwrite sections of email headers. When Outlook attempts to open the mail it sends forward an error message. These files are very easily repaired using an Outlook data recovery tool for OST or PST repair. A simple scan for the file’s name as sent in the email will quickly yield the location of the damaged file. The repair Outlook tool will then replace the changed data with the needed information to open the file.

A similar situation arises when upgrading versions of Office when upgrading from Office 2003 to 2007 an error message is presented stating that all of your archive.pst files are lost.

“The File C:\Documents and Settings\\My Documents\Archive.pst cannot be found.”

When you click the message away another error message will appear, and when this one is removed you are then able to access the folder where your archived messages reside. But this process fails as the archived messages somehow have been corrupted during the upgrade. Countless messages can be lost this way. Once again a third party PST repair  Outlook tool is the answer. A quality PST repair Outlook tool simple scans for any file that is or was a PST file and presents it for examination. One might think, “why can’t the built in search function find these files? It can’t because thedata has been so corrupted it ids no longer recognizable by Windows as having been part of a PST file. The third party program searches for the structure of the file and then reattaches it to the PST file. Hence this is referred to as PST repair.

The Microsoft Outlook Calendar and Task Reminders are tremendously helpful. They are probably the only pop up anyone ever wanted to see. But these can often fail to operate and when one is relying upon them for scheduling and appointment reminders such failure can result in widespread problems. If others depend upon the information on your Outlook Calendar and the ensuing reminder and they never receive notice entire work systems will quickly fall apart. Imagine the results if only half of the people invited to an important teleconference receive the message to attend? This problem is one of the most severe one may encounter with Microsoft Outlook and as with the other difficulties must be fixed with a program for PST repair.
Task reminders from Outlook are generated from the primary mailbox. If you are attempting to send from elsewhere the reminders will not be sent. Also if your primary box is overloaded many messages will not be sent. Create a new mailbox and set this one as the primary. Still these are after the fact solutions. And they do not address the issue of lost messages that need to be recovered. These are found using a PST repair-scanning algorithm as supplied by a quality PST repair tool. It should be noted that the addition of one good tool to repair Outlook could solve every problem known to arise using Microsoft Outlook.

There are dozens of other problems that can occur using Microsoft Outlook. The Mapi32.dll file can be corrupted causing a need for new one to be created. This still leaves the prior damage.
Virus attacks hoping to piggyback spyware and malware onto your registry are a major cause of Outlook message loss. Once a virus has found its way through your systems defenses it is not too difficult to remove them. What is somewhat time consuming is the repair of the files it has altered. As with all of the Outlook problems discussed the solution to the lost PST file data is to use a deep scanning tool to locate every PST file on your computer’s hard drive. These tools can restructure any component of an Outlook file and affect a fast PST repair.

For the longest time I was using the version of Microsoft office that came with my old PC running Windows 98. Of course the program was long out of date and had few of the grammatical error fixing capabilities of the newer versions. when I did upgrade to 2003 and consequently 2007 I discovered that I had quite a few of my archived Outlook Message files go missing. Apparently this is a normal result of the Office upgrade. Many of my older emails contained notes to my self for valuable projects I still need. For that reason it was imperative that I find a quality Microsoft Outlook recovery tool. I found the perfect Outlook Mail Recovery program at Disk Doctors.net. I have long used Disk Doctors programs for data recovery problems so it was no surprise to me that this PST recovery tool came so highly recommended. The utility has many other uses pertinent to Outlook emails including inbox repair and task retrieval of files corrupted by compression.
